Tanisha's Vans Warped Tour Picks: You Me at Six

So, by popular demand my pick of the week is You Me at Six.  This pop/rock band from the UK is amazing. They have the sound, the energy, and the look to keep girls screaming all around the world! With a very upbeat sound, many of their songs are also acoustic giving them a diverse sound. You can tell that they are inspired by bands like Brand New, Jimmy Eat World, and New Found Glory, because they have influenced the band and they have a similar flavor. YMAS have been around since 2004, but didn’t start to hit the spotlight until 2007/2008 and they have just released their second album “Hold Me Down” earlier this year. Though their sound is becoming quite mainstream, you have to remember that these guys were ahead of their time. When they first started recording music, there was pop and there was rock, and emo was just on the rise… but there weren’t many bands that incorporated all three, this band did and its great that over the past few years they are gaining quite the following and getting the recognition they deserve.
