So, after 6 straight shows this week, we are happy to say we just successfully finished our first ever UK tour. The week began with 4 London shows, each of which were very exciting and unique. First, we opened for Grizzly Bear in Hyde Park, alongside Efterklang and Here We Go Magic. Just to be able to say that we played in Hyde Park is amazing enough, but to have played alongside such talented bands is really special. A note about Grizzly Bear: To be able to watch a band like Grizzly Bear from side-stage is really something else. Seeing a performance so flawless and well put together really helps you fully appreciate the art of performing.

Our second show was at Madame Jo Jo’s, a longstanding burlesque club in the gay district, also known for its tuesday night concert series White Heat. We were super happy to be a part of it, playing alongside Canada’s own Diamond Rings, who puts on one of the most interesting live shows i’ve seen. Our third show was at the Lexington, and although small, the show went off without a hitch.

Friday marked our big sold-out London debut, taking place at The Social club with Visions of Trees and Brooklyn’s How To Dress Well (a one man pop act). This show was so special because French filmmaker Jamie Harley, who has done all of the Memoryhouse music videos to date, came to do “live visuals” which he mixed and triggered specifically to the songs we played. It was a thrill to play that show- the place was packed and every single person seemed to love it.

We played 2 more UK shows on top of the London ones, as it was a tour after all. We took day trips to both Sheffield and Brighton this weekend to play gigs, and once again, we couldn’t be happier. Brighton in particular was such a cool surf/beach town and the vibe was really chill all day and night.

This week we are taking a little time off in London to be tourists before flying out to Ireland to play Oxegen Festival, alongside The Black Keys, Arcade Fire, Jay Z, and Vampire Weekend (did i totally just name only all the biggest acts there on Friday? Yes.)

Next tour blog will feature tons of updates from our time off in London as well as Oxegen Festival, then after that we begin our European tour. Check back in because we’ll also have an exciting announcement to make regarding some filming we’ll be doing while in Amsterdam.

To cap it off, here’s a live video beautifully shot and edited by Magic RPM from our Paris debut show, featuring “Lately”. They filmed a handful of songs and will be releasing them one by one as part of a mini series of live videos.
