2010 Mercury Prize Shortlist Revealed

The 2010 Mercury Prize shortlist was unveiled in London today, which highlights the best albums by British and Irish bands/artists. The award itself was started back in 1992 as an alternative to the hugely popular Brit Awards. English rapper Speech Debelle took home the prize last year for her album Speech Therapy, the first hip-hop album to win the award since Dizzee Rascal back in 2003.
The winner will be announced on September 7. The nominees are:
