This morning's new music news; John Lennon's solo albums will be remastered and re-released in celebration of his 70th birthday, Jimmy Page is apparently being sued by folk singer Jake Homes over the song "Dazed and Confused" and Guided By Voices will reunite for a gig in Las Vegas this October.

In celebration of his 70th birthday, John Lennon’s solo albums will be remastered and re-released. All of the albums will be available on CD and digital download and released around Lennon’s birthday, October 9. “In this very special year, which would have seen my husband and life partner John reach the age of 70, I hope that this remastering/reissue programme will help bring his incredible music to a whole new audience,” Yoko Ono said. Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page is apparently being sued by folk singer Jake Holmes who says he owns the copyrights to the track “Dazed and Confused,” which was released on Zeppelin’s self-titled debut album in 1969. Homes wrote and recorded the song for his 1967 album The Above Ground Sound of Jake Homes. [Exclaim!]

And Guided By Voices will reunite for their first show since New Year’s 2004/2005 when they play at Matador Records’ 21st birthday party in Las Vegas this October. The ’93-’96 lineup will be performing alongside Pavement, Belle & Sebastian, Spoon, Girls, Cat Power, the New Pornographers, Fucked Up, Sonic Youth and many others. [Pitchfork]
