This morning's new music news: The Walkmen have announced the name and release date for their upcoming album, Beck has chosen his next pair of musicians to perform on his Record Club and Cut Copy are readying a new album and ignoring tour requests from Lady Gaga.

The Walkmen have announced the release date for their forthcoming album Lisbon. Following 2008’s You & Me and recorded in Philadelphia and Brooklyn, the new disc will be released on September 14. Several of the tracks were written in Lisbon, Portugal. [NME]

In the next installment of Beck’s Record Club, where he is joined in the studio with other musicians for one day to record an entire album, the singer/songwriter has enlisted Tortoise and Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore. There’s no word yet on which album they will cover. The Record Club’s last project was INXS’ album Kick. [Time Out Chicago]

And Australian band Cut Copy will release a new album following 2008’s well-received EP In Ghost Colours. The as-yet-untitled record is due out in January with a new single emerging sometime in the Fall. Recently the band were asked to tour with Lady Gaga, but decided not to go. [Pitchfork]
