This morning's new music news; Interpol have announced the official release date for their upcoming self-titled album, the SappyFest music festival in New Brunswick has announced its full lineup and Propagandhi member Chris Hannah challenges NOFX's Fat Mike to a duel in the octagon.

Interpol have officially announced the release date for their forthcoming self-titled album. The band’s fourth studio album following 2007’s Our Love to Admire will be released on September 14. This will be their last record with bassist Carlos Dengler, who recently left the band. Dave Pajo has filled in. [NME]

The official SappyFest music festival in New Brunswick lineup has been announced. Running July 30 to August 1, this year’s performers included Julie Doiron, Attack in Black, Holy Fuck, Diamond Rings, Lullabye Arkestra, Chad VanGaalen, the Sadies, P.S. I Love You and many others. And the punk rock feud between the bands NOFX and Propagandhi has gone one step further with one challenging the other to step into the ring, or octagon. In a messaged posted on his band’s website Glen Lamber, aka Chris Hannah, from Propagandhi called out NOFX’s Cokie the Clown character, played by bassist Fat Mike. “I’m issuing a public challenge to Cokie: meet me in the octagon. Three 1-minute rounds. No holds barred. The loser apologizes publicly for stealing the other guys gimmick and pays the winner a shitload of money.” [Exclaim!]
