The last we heard of the New York quintet known as The Strokes they were in their rehearsal space getting ready for a brief summer tour and posting pictures on their twitter to prove it. Now a recent post suggests they’ll play a secret warm up gig somewhere in London tomorrow night.

The band posted a picture of their coveted logo, the one with the blue lettering, on their twitter and have replaced their name with “Venison.” The website for Dingwalls, a music venue in Camden, lists Venison as playing tomorrow night. The site also claims Venison were formerly called The Shitty Beatles so Jolly Green Giants and Crucial Taunt will be opening, naturally. The Strokes’ official website also displays the current name change.

If all is true, this will be the first gig the band has played in years. Their last album First Impressions of Earth was released in 2006 and since then each member has perused their own solo and collaborative projects. Summer tour dates includes shows at Isle of Wight, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits.
