Tanisha's Vans Warped Tour Picks: Anti-Flag

Anti-Flag is a politically inspired punk rock group out of Pennsylvania. These boys not only wanted to entertain their fans as musicians, they wanted to challenge our very belief system and “make us think”. With a rocky start somewhere in the late 1980’s, Anti-Flag has gone through so many bass players it makes my head spin… but a dedicated fan dubbed #2 has been in the band for the past 10 years.

These guys have played shows with everyone!! Including Thrice, Rise Against, Billy Talent and Rage, just to name a few as well as they’ve been on Warped Tours roster a couple times before.

Like most of the other bands I’ve reviewed, these guys leave it all on the stage with such a high energy show. But what’s different about Chris, Pat, Justin and #2 (also named Chris) is that they truly believe in what they are saying up there. All of their songs are politically charged and have a meaning, rocking about war, humans rights, choices, and of course the government. And with over 10 albums, they have been doing it long before most others… but really with a name like anti-flag what did you expect? So if you want to get morally rocked, or just want to have a good time these boys are definitely the ones to do it.
