This morning's new music news; The service for the late heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio was held yesterday, Stars will release an EP called The Seance with their new album The Five Ghosts and Orbital are set to release their first material in six years.

The service for the late Heavy Metal singer Ronnie James Dio was held yesterday at Hall of Liberty in Los Angeles. Around 1,200 fans were present alongside musicians such as Glenn Hughes, who performed with Black Sabbath in the ’80s, Geoff Tate from Queensryche and Paul Shortino of Quiet Riot. Dio died of stomach cancer on May 16. He was 67. [NME]

Along with their new album entitled The Five Ghosts, out June 22, Stars will be releasing a remix EP called The Seance. The EP features remixes by Of Montreal, the Album Leaf and Montag as well as the track “The Five Ghosts.” The Seance comes as a bonus if you pre-order The Five Ghosts on iTunes. [Pitchfork]

And Orbital will release the double A-side single “Don’t Stop Me” and “The Gun Is Good” on 12″ and digitally on June 20, their first material in six years. [Prefix]
