This morning's new music news; The Cribs have started working on their next album following Ignore The Ignorant, Former Wilco member Jay Bennett's final solo album will be released as a free download and Chromeo have plans to play a show near you in support of their forthcoming album Business Casual.

The Cribs have started work on their next album, their fifth, following last year’s Ignore The Ignorant. Currently in the studio, the band will take a break from recording to play several big summer festivals including Glastonbury, T in the Park, Oxegen and Reading and Leeds. [6Music]

Former Wilco member Jay Bennett’s final solo album entiteld Kicking at the Perfumed Air will be released on July 10 as a free download. Bennett died in his sleep last year at the age of 45 of a painkiller overdose. A foundation has been set up by Bennett’s mother and brother called the Jay Bennett Foundation, which supports “music and education.” [Jay Bennett Foundation]

And Chromeo will be touring this summer in support of their upcoming album Business Casual, out August 17. Starting next month the duo will be playing shows overseas, but will head back our way in July and August for shows in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver.
