This morning's new music news; A public memorial will take place next Saturday (May 30th) for the late Ronnie James Dio, The Eeels will release a new album called Tomorrow Morning and The Roots are finishing their album with help from the Dirty Projectors.

A public memorial will take place next Saturday (May 30th) to celebrate the life of the late heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio. It will take place at The Hall of Liberty in Los Angeles. He died early Sunday morning after battling with stomach cancer, he was 67. Dio’s wife Wendy has insisted for fans to donate to the Ronnie James Dio ‘Stand Up and Shoot Cancer Fund.’ [NME]

The Eeels will release a new album called Tomorrow Morning, their third, this summer. This will be the last in the trilogy of albums that started with 2009’s Hombre Lobo and was followed by End Times. The disc comes out August 24 and the band will be playing two Canadian shows in late September in Toronto and Montreal. [Spin]

And The Roots are finishing their forthcoming album How I Got Over with the help from members of the Dirty Projectors. It is due out June 22. [Exclaim!]
