This morning's new music news; The Run-DMC show supposed to take place at this year's Roots Picnic has been scrapped, Queens of the Stone Age will reissue their sophomore album Rated R and Interpol bassist Carlos D has quit the band.
A Run-DMC reunion show that was supposed to take place at this year’s Roots Picnic n Philadelphia has been scrapped. Questlove from The Roots had said before that DJ Run and rapper DMC were going to play their first show since 2002, but Billboard reports the Roots will play with Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface, Method Man and Raekwon instead. The event takes place on June 5 at Penn’s Landing. [Billboard]
Queens of the Stone Age will reissue their sophomore album Rated R, released in 2000 this summer. The package will contain B-sides, extra tracks and various live recordings including the band’s past performances at the Reading Festival. [NME]
And Interpol bassist Carlos D has quit according to a statement on the band’s website. “He has decided to follow another path, and to pursue new goals,” the statement said.“This separation is amicable, and we whole-heartedly wish him great happiness and success.” The band have recently completed their as-yet-untitled new album.
