The National Debut 'Bloodbuzz Ohio' Video

The National’s latest album entitled High Violet was released today along with the video for its first single, “Bloodbuzz Ohio.” Directed by Hope Hall, Andreas Burgess and Carin Besser the video features singer Matt Berninger enjoying some solitude in different places. This is the band’s fifth studio album and it was produced by themselves and Peter Katis, whom they’ve worked with before on Alligator and Boxer. The cover of the album is called The Binding Force and was created by Mark Fox.

Recently it was announced that D.A. Pennebaker will direct The National’s benefit show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music which will be shown live on YouTube. The band will be touring all summer and will play two shows at Toronto’s Massey Hall as well as gigs in Montreal at Osheaga and in Vancouver later in September.
