Part of the original Seattle grunge scene, Mudhoney has spent the last 22 years cultivating a definitive sound while maintaining a following that have cited the four-piece as grunge rock godfathers. Having inspired the likes of Kurt Cobain among countless other notable musicians, the band has undergone slight line up changes throughout the years, but currently consists of original members Mark Arm, Steve Turner, Guy Maddison and Dan Peters.

Since their formation in 1988, the band has gone on to release eight full-length albums, while their earlier efforts helped brand the genre’s trademark dirty and highly-distorted sound. Though they haven’t recorded new material since 2008’s highly-applauded The Lucky Ones, the band continues to tour and live up to their reputations as artists immune to melodrama and stagnation.

The NXNE word of the day is “Mudhoney”. Enter here for your chance to win a $50 iTunes gift card or NXNE festival wristbands.
