CMJ caught up with Liars in Williamsburg for a chat about their fifth studio album, Sisterworld, released in March. Moose talks with the band about the role location plays in the creation of each of their albums. Berlin, where they recorded their third full length, Drum’s Not Dead, acted as an isolation chamber, whereas L.A. forced the band to engage in their surroundings in the production of Sisterworld. The band now calls LA home and finds Brooklyn to be a lot different than the one they left behind. Apparently some great stuff was edited out of this interview, which we’ll make sure to leave in next time.
