As the summer comes to an end three great bands will be sharing with you once last warm evening filled with music. Starting in Vancouver in late August, Vampire Weekend, Beach House and Dum Dum Girls will embark on a North American tour together, playing three shows in Canada.

Vampire Weekend’s latest album Contra, their second, has soared reaching number one on the Billboard 200 and selling 124,000 copies in its first week. The first tour in support of the disc was accompanied by sold out shows in North America and overseas. A new track entitled “Jonanthan Low” is set to appear on the upcoming Twilight movie soundtrack, Eclipse.

Beach House are currently supporting their third full-length album Teen Dream. Before the tour with Vampire Weekend and Dum Dum Girls, the Baltimore band will play this year’s Osheaga Festival in Montreal. AUX Weekly’s Barry Taylor had a chance to chat with member Alex Scally before their last show in Toronto at the Opera House.

And Dum Dum Girls are enjoying the buzz surrounding their fuzz heavy garage rock debut album, I Will Be, released this past March. The band, who were included in our 6 All Female Bands We Love list, are currently touring overseas, but will return to North America in late June.

All Canadian Dates:

August 28 – Malkin Bowl – Vancouver

September 7 – Molson Canadian Amphitheatre – Toronto

September – Metropolis Theatre – Montreal (Vampire Weekend and Dum Dum Girls only)
