This morning's new music news; Blur will release a new song for record store day, Sleater-Kinney's Corin Tucker has announced her debut solo album and a John Prine tribute album is set to come out featuring Conor Oberst and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon.

Blur will release their first new song in seven years as a limited edition seven-inch vinyl single for this year’s Record Store Day on April 17. Speaking about the release, frontman Damon Albarn said, “Music is a simple way for Blur to show our support and we hope people like it.” More details of the track, which was recently recorded, are expected to come out nearer the release date. Sleater-Kinney’s Corin Tucker has announced the release of her debut LP set to come out later this year. “It’s definitely more of a middle-aged mom record, in a way,” Tucker said. “It’s not a record that a young person would write…I do think I’m trying to write stories, though, and that I take certain feelings or certain experiences and put them into a little story.” [Portland Mercury]

And a John Prine tribute album called Broken Hearts and Dirty Windows: Songs Of John Prine, will come out on June 22. The 12-song disc features contributions from several musicians such as Conor Oberst, My Morning Jacket, Drive-By Truckers, Josh Ritter, The Avett Brothers and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon among others.
