Portland’s The Decemberists are currently writing and rehearsing their next album, their sixth, with the help of R.E.M guitarist Peter Buck. A tweet on frontman Colin Meloy’s twitter page said, “First official day of #6 practice; made Peter Buck play my fake-REM riffs and he didn’t seem perturbed. Nor litigious.” The band’s publicist has confirmed that Buck will be involved with some tracks on the album. [Paste]
