This morning's new music news; Band of Skulls play acoustic set outside the Mod Club theatre; David Letterman has started his own record label and signed his first band and Green Day will honor The Rolling Stones' Exile on Main Street with a performance on Jimmy Fallon.

Yesterday we shot a Band of Skulls acoustic performance  outside the Mod Club Theatre in Toronto. The band are currently touring Canada with a few dates remaining before heading overseas in support of their latest album, 2009’s Baby Darling Doll Face Honey. [MySpace]

David Letterman has started his own record label called Clear Entertainment/C.E. Music and signed the latest and greatest pop punk music has to offer. The band is called Runner Runner and Letterman’s label will release their self titled debut album later this summer. [Spin]

And Green Day will play a song from the Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street as part of a TV tribute to the album on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on May 10. Fallon’s show will be doing a Stones-themed week where various guests will play songs from the upcoming re-release of the 1972 double LP. [Gigwise]
