Kanye West and Suge Knight to Face Off in Court

Kanye West will face former Death Row Records don Suge Knight in a Miami court this December in relation to a shooting that took place at a nightclub in 2005. Knight is suing West for over a million clams in damages after he was shot in the leg at a Shore Club party hosted by West. Knight claims the security at the jam was inadequate. Both West and the club’s owners have denied the claims.

No arrest have been made over the incident, which left Knight with a shattered right femur. According to his lawyer Marc Brumer, Knight had to pay medical bills of $200,000 and the amount he is seeking also covers a 15-carat diamond earring lost the same night. “He’s an icon in the music industry,” Brummer said. “He walks in a room and he lights it up…how someone came with a gun into a very VIP party, that just doesn’t meet the smell test in life.” The trial will begin on the December 6.
