This weekend Canada's music industry descended upon the sleepy city of St. John's, Newfoundland in what is sure to be a memorable few days of award winning, award losing and substance consumption - although not necessarily in that order. We present here a comprehensive list of nominees you must follow on twitter to get the goods that no televised broadcast could offer.

Billy Talent have been nominated for four Juno Awards including Rock Album of the Year, Album of the Year, Single of the Year for “Rusted From the Rain” and Group of the Year. The band’s latest album entitled Billy Talent III has sold 140,000 copies in Canada. They’ve been nominated 15 times and have won 5 awards.

Leading the nominations with six, Vancouver’s Michael Buble is up for Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Single of the Year for “Heaven Met You Yet,” Pop Album of the Year, Juno Fan Choice Award and Album of the Year.

Toronto’s Joel Thomas Zimmerman, a.k.a. Deadmau5, is looking for his third win a row in the Dance Recording of the Year category. His latest disc For Lack of a Better Name has been nominated and will compete against Thunderheists’s self titled album.

Drake’s first full length studio album Thank Me Later is set to come out this June and he is up for three awards including going head to head with his current touring partner k-os for Rap Recording of the Year for So Far Gone. He’s also up for New Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for “Best I Ever Had.”

Tony Dekker and his Great Lake Swimmers crew are up for one award in the Roots & Traditional Album of the Year category for Lost Channels. The band will be performing at the Juno’s before heading out on an east coast tour both north and south of the border.

Metric have been nominated for Group of the Year, Alternative Album of the year for Fantasies and members Emily Haines and James Shaw are up for Songwriter of the year. The band will be playing both Lilith Fair dates and the Osheaga Festival.

Surprisingly twin sisters Tegan and Sara have only been nominated for one Juno and face some tough competition in the Alternative Album of the year category. The girls have recently released a remix LP centered around the track “Alligator” from the album Sainthood.

Also nominated for Alternative Album of the year is Julie Doiron for her disc I Can Wonder What You Did With Your Day. She’ll be playing two shows in St. John’s before heading to California in May and then back to Toronto for a gig at the Phoenix on June 4.

All things Canadian band The Tragically Hip have been nominated for Single of the Year for the track “Love is a First” as well as Group of the Year and Rock Album of the Year. The Hip have been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, received a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award and have won 14 Juno Awards.

Alexisonfire are nominated for Rock Album of the Year for Old Crows/Young Cardinals. They’ll be performing at the Juno’s and will then tour for the next couple months down south before heading over to Europe in June.

Both Lights and Stereos will duke it out for Pop Album of the Year while the latter is also nominated for New Group of the Year. Lights released The Listening in September and last year won a Juno Award for Best New Artist.

K’Naan’s song turned anthem for Haiti “Wavin Flag” has put him in the Songwriter of the Year category. He’s also been nominated for Artist of the year and Rap Recording of the Year for Troubadour. K’Naan has recently collaborated with English band Keane on a couple tracks for their upcoming EP Night Train.

Hamilton’s Arkells have been nominated for New Group of the Year. Recently it was announced that for their upcoming tour, the band will be playing with Metric, but for the last show of the tour will be opening for supergroup Them Crooked Vultures in Toronto on May 15.

Be sure to follow AUX TV on twitter because our own @GeeNote will be tweeting from the red carpet to the after parties. We’ve told her that if she can snap an incriminating pic of Bieber [who we in fact adore] that we’ll fly her home first class.
