Chris Mills Premiers Sunbear's City Escape Video on AUX TV

Christopher Mills’ short film about Canadian Folk/Country band Sunbear, which consists of Kate Boothman, Michelle Josef and Ian Russell, is simple and eloquent. The video shows scenes of Boothman strolling around downtown Toronto and out in the country with one of her horses all whist hearing a short monologue and eventually the track “City Escape” off the disc Sun Streaming In. Boothman finds solitude in the simple things and has a deep connection with nature. It seems one must spend time in the city amidst busy streets and folks occupied with their cellphones to truly appreciate stillness in the country air.
On Sun Streaming In, a batch of poetic songs, the band had help from several other musicians such as Dale Murray from Cuff the Duke, Julie Fader, Melissa Boraski, The Sadies’ Travis Good and Greg Keelor from Blue Rodeo, whose farm was used for recording. A new album entitled Moon Bath is expected this spring and in anticipation of it, Sunbear are currently touring several Canadian provinces.
