Born Ruffians Set to Tour North America with New Album
by Ciaran Thompson
April 1, 2010
Born Ruffians will try to avoid the sophomore blues and hit the road this summer in support of their forthcoming album, Say It, which will be released in Canada on June 1st. Before the release however, the album’s first single “What to Say” will be available digitally in May and will contain a previously unreleased b-side called “Plinky Plonky.” The single, according to the new album’s press release is “a soul-tinged yet tightly-wound affair, with watery synths that lurk in the background” and is currently streaming at Spin. The album, following the band’s 2008 debut Red Yellow and Blue, was recorded at Mississauga’s Metalworks Studio with producer Rusty Santos, whom they’ve worked with previously.
The upcoming tour, starting in Toronto on May 28, will see the band hit 20 different cities on both sides of the boarder and will take up the majority of June concluding in Peterborough.
