This morning in new music news; Muse confirm SXSW gig, British Sea Power complete new album and The Pipettes plan for June release.

Muse have confirmed a performance at this year’s SXSW festival. The band will take the stage this Friday after Metric at Stubb’s Bar-B-Que. The gig, their most intimate venue on this tour so far, will be broadcast on Muse’s MySpace page beginning on Sunday. [NME]

British Sea Power have finished recording and mixing their new album, according to their official website. The band are also finishing other new songs that will likely end up as b-sides or be put on an EP. One of which is called “Retreat” that according to Noble is “a nine minute, Isle of Skye, Stargazing sleeping pill.” [British Sea Power]

And The Pipettes’ new disc Earth Vs The Pipettes has been confirmed for release on June 28. This album follows the band’s debut album We Are The Pipettes, released in 2006. [DIY]
