The Strokes will be one of the six headliners at this year’s Lollapalooza festival. Speaking with the Chicago Tribune, lead singer Julian Casablancas confirmed the gig although the festival has not released the official lineup yet. Casablancas also spoke about the upcoming, long overdue new album. “I think it’ll be out in September.” Casablancas told the Tribune. “I’ve written a lot of melodies for it, but the other guys have also contributed a lot more: melodies, choruses, parts. It’s way more collaborative. So it’ll have a different feel than our other albums.” The Strokes have already been booked for four European festivals including Rockness and Isle of Wight.
