Arctic Monkeys, currently on tour in North America, will head straight back into the studio once the tour is finished to start work on their next album. The new disc will  follow last year’s Humbug, the band’s third release. Speaking about the decision to quickly head back into the studio, drummer Matt Helders told NME, “We’ve said we’ll stop touring this album and we’re eager to start working on new stuff again, not have time off again.”

As with their last release, the band will again turn to producer Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures. Whether the sweet voiced hard rocking musician turned producer or the band who own the fastest selling debut album in British history for Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, can achieve the same sort of past success remains to be seen.

Singer, prominent songwriter and lead guitarist Alex Turner spoke about the new material the band has been working on. “We haven’t tied our shoelaces yet, so it’s hard to say [what it would sound like] there’s a few things we’ve been playing around together and we’ve spoke about how we might go about it. We haven’t started walking yet, the laces are undone, never mind dancing.”
