This morning's music news roundup; get excited for Gorillaz and Thom Yorke names his new supergroup.

Thom Yorke’s supergroup finally has a name and will play a few shows in the U.S. before their headlining Coachella performance. The band, now called Atoms For Peace, features Chili Peppers bassist Flea, producer Nigel Godrich, Mauro Refosco from Forro in the Dark and Joey Waronker who has played with Smashing Pumpkins and Beck. Yesterday Bob Dylan was one of 12 people to receive the National Medal of Arts, only he wasn’t there to accept it, he was probably busy. The awards were presented by President Obama and Michelle Obama. Some of the other recipients included Clint Eastwood and Maya Lin. [New York Times]

And Gorillaz have put a new song on their official youtube page called “Superfast Jellyfish.” Their new album, Plastic Beach, comes out March 9 and it will be streaming on NPR early that month. In anticipation of the album, the band has added some new features on their website such as games, track by track reviews and a trailer. [Rolling Stone] The band’s music video for Stylo will premier online on March 2nd.
