Last night, those attending the second night of Wavelength 500 at the Steam Whistle Brewery were treated to some of Ontario’s most talented musicians. Kicking off the night, Professor Fingers, who apparently only responds to farm animal noises, played for those who showed up early enough a set of DJ art. His EP Superorganism is out and several tour dates have been announced. Having not played since 2005, Toronto’s Fembots followed the professor. Wearing a slick jean jacket with a huge Diamond Rings patch on the back, John O’Regan (a.k.a Diamond Rings) took the stage, wailed on the guitar and danced his ass off. Also not having played in a few years, The Russian Futurists rocked the stage with heavy synths and bass. To conclude, Holy Fuck came on stage and holy fuck indeed. From the opening song the audience turned into a frenzy with an mosh pit erupting in the middle of the dance floor. Even the stern faced security guy who looked like he wouldn’t be there unless it was his job starting bobbing.
