This morning in new music news; Black Rebel Motorcycle Club get their gear stolen while on tour, Liam Gallagher still doing that Oasis thing, and Florence and the Machine plan NA tour.

Liam Gallagher, who is now with Oasis 2.0 or whatever, has told NME the band is aiming to put the new record out this July. Gallagher says they have eight songs they are heading into the studio in April with and that he penned most of them before Noel left the band. And just to add fuel to the bonfire that is the Gallagher brothers’ relationship, Liam said Oasis should have been more productive while they were together. “I’m not going to beat myself up about it, I think we should have made better, bigger albums. Or more albums. Having like four or five years off is just no good.” [NME]

You’ve got to be pretty gutsy to rip off a motorcycle club. Beefy large men and women with tattoos and mean faces come to mind, but in this situation that’s not the case. Recently while touring Europe, California’s Black Rebel Motorcycle Club had some of their personal gear stolen back home. Some of the treasured items included a 1954 Fender Esquire, a 1964 Black Fender Percussion Bass and a 68 Gretsch Country Gentleman Single Cutaway. The band has asked word be spread in hopes of retrieving the gear. [Filter]

And Florence and the Machine have announced details of a short North American tour. They will play six shows including two Canadian stops in Toronto and Vancouver. The tour kicks off April 9 and will conclude at this Coachella Music Festival. [Rock on the streets]
