This morning in new music news; Sunny Day Real Estate are making a comback, Muse have rock documentary ambitions and Bob Dylan is set to play the White House.

While not emulating them on any type of musical scale, Muse have said they would like to make a rock documentary similar to the one Nirvana did with Live! Tonight! Sold Out!. The band has already released two live DVDs, but this time around want to do things a little differently. Bassist Chris Wolstenholme told BBC that they would like to film “just life on the road and what it’s like, with obviously a bit of music here and there, and other loads of other random stuff as well.” [BBC]

Buy a couple boxes of tissues because Sunny Day Real Estate are making a comeback. A gig in the UK has just been announced and it looks like it will be the first of a full European tour. Current Foo Fighter bassist Nate Mendel, also a member of the band, told NME about how surprised he is about the band getting back together. “I don’t think any of us really ever considered, much less believed it possible, that we would ever get together and make music again,” Mendel said. Here, have a tissue Nate. [NME]

And Bob Dylan, among other musical acts such as Smokey Robinson and Natalie Cole, will perform at the next In Performance at the White House on February 10. Emcees Morgan Freeman and Queen Latifa will host the event set to be a celebration of music from the civil rights movement. The concert will be shown the following day on PBS. [Examiner]
