This morning's new music news roundup; many more artists added to the Lilith Fair bill, including Phoenix and The Gossip, the inventors of the MP3 have invented something else, and Keith Richards is giving up drinking, apparently.

Everybody is talking about how Keith Richards quit drinking. According to Brittan’s last bastion of journalistic integrity and trusted music news source, The Sun, Richards has been dry for four months citing the unhealthy lifestyle of business partner Ronnie Wood as motivation. [Spinner] [Sun]

Lilith Fair has announced more artists joining the bill – Loretta Lynn, Heart, Norah Jones, Cat Power, Sia, Gossip, La Roux, and Beth Orton will join the fair on its tour with just added stops in Edmonton, San Diego, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Detroit, Hartford and more. The inventors of the MP3 file format (yes, it was invented) have done it again! They’re calling it MusicDNA and it is already being touted as a possible competitor to the iTunes LP. All information so far suggest that this file can also be downloaded for free using the internet.
