There are as many band blogs out there as there are bands and most just tell you what you already know.  Here is a set of band blogs that’ll help you discover new music from sources you trust.

Fucked up – Looking for Gold

Toronto hardcore outfit Fucked Up have made blogging look really cool. Their site, Looking for Gold, has exclusive info regarding tours as well as some other goodies. Notably they give praise to any other bands/artists they dig and have recently added a top ten list for their best of the past year.  If you just want to follow Damian ‘Pink Eyes’ Abraham, he keeps a blog called Voice Of Dissent.

Radiohead – Dead Air Space

For all the experimentation Radiohead have done musically, their blog website Dead Air Space is no different. There is information regarding recent music they have created, tour dates and other band news, but there is also so much more. All members of the band post daily on the site and discuss various happenings, especially regarding politics. For fans of the band or for those with like minded political or social views, this site is definitely something to bookmark.

Kanye West – Kanye Universe City

Kanye’s blog is a mainstay of the band/blog community and it NEVER DISAPPOINTS. Art, cars, girls, furniture, household items and shout outs to Shad K are but a taste of what West provides his readers. As one of the biggest attention getters in the music industry today, Kanye doesn’t shy away from what he likes nor doesn’t like. But not all his posts show off his tastes, as one of his latest entries shows him and two others serving food at a soup kitchen in Los Angeles, how charitable.  Don’t wait for it to make the gossip pages, get the EMBARRASSING DIRT right from the source.

Tegan and Sara – Official Website

To put it plainly, Tegan and Sara’s official website has everything. Along with photos, music, tour dates, etc., the site also features a video series by Tegan and Sara called reflections. These videos are usually taken from the tour where you can watch the duo playing tunes, talking about their musical experiences and even getting some exercise. A must see for anyone interested in the band.

Smashing Pumpkins (Billy Corgan) – Live Journal

Apparently somebody still uses Live Journal.  Lone survivor of early alternative rock group Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan laments on his blog, which is more of a journal, about the happenings with his music career. Recently deciding to do another pumpkins record, with some 40 songs he plans to record and release, Corgan keeps fans updated with whatever he has been working on. A recent post has him discussing a favored guitar that was featured on the Pumpkins’ first album Gish.

What band blogs can you not go a day without checking?
