Maxime Morin, aka DJ Champion, had been touring with Chill Em All for nearly four years before returning to the studio in 2008 to begin work on his latest album, Resistance. Perhaps it was the relentless touring in support of Chill Em All which caused Champion’s initial efforts to create his highly anticipated follow up sounding too similar to its predecessor. “I’m not about words on paper, I’m about sounds, that’s what I like” explains Champion about his process for approaching a new recording.
