Spelling bee contestants love to dab

You’d hit them with the dab too if you could spell “nagelfluh” on the first try.
You can’t go to a sporting event without seeing a dab or two. From dabbing athletes to dabbing teens on the jumbotron, the dance (is it even a dance?) introduced by Migos and popularized to the dismay of white parents by Cam Newton has become a mainstay in popular culture.
What might surprise you, then, is its crossover appeal — as of this week, the dab has officially hit the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Whether or not you consider spelling to be a sport is irrelevant, because as you’ll see in the dank ass Vine below, dabbing on a clutch etymological come through is, for these kids, as exciting as dabbing after a big dunk or 30 yard touch down.
Like, could you spell “nagelfluh” on your first try? I’m not even sure I could pronounce it.
