James Twyman, The Peace Troubadour, plans to leave for Syria next week.

Folk singer James Twyman from (yep) Portland, OR plans to travel to Syria on January 20th. His end goal is performing a concert for peace in ISIS-controlled territory after making his way to an Israeli/Syrian border town. Twyman says he will be joined by a group of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim religious officials, who will lead the assembled group in prayers from each of their respective religions during the concert.

That sound you hear is thousands of Breitbart.com readers collectively losing their minds.

An experienced peace-spreading musician who has performed in Bosnia and Croatia in 1995 and in Baghdad just after Desert Storm, Twyman hopes the U.S. State Department and their travel restrictions to Syria won’t throw a wrench in his plans. He says the State Department has already reached out and proactively advised him to reconsider his plans, as the government’s ability to help citizens taken hostage or kidnapped while in Syria is very limited.

This story is so perfectly tuned to rile up a certain demographic, so let’s see how Twyman’s being taken to task on FoxNews.com.

“What the-!?! I’ll show that hippie! How dare he try and make the situation better!” *crafts epic takedown in the comments section*

OK, that last one was pretty good. Great use of bold text too. At least Grummanflyer has the right attitude:

“Get the infidel!”
