Rapper 2 Chainz pays single mother's rent for a year

Deirdre Platter is a disabled veteran and single mother struggling to make ends meet.
Rapper 2 Chainz is a lot of things: Tall, well spoken, charismatic and, apparently, generous as hell.
According to the New York Daily News, the artist formerly known as Tity Boy has committed to paying a single mother and retired, disabled veteran’s rent for a year. Deirdre Platter of Palmetto, Georgia has reportedly been out of work for almost a year, and, following surgery, has found it increasingly difficult to support herself and her child.
Thankfully, 2 Chainz is keen on giving back. He’s using money raised from the sales of his Ugly Christmas Sweaters (including ‘Dabbing Santa’ shown above) to help her furnish his apartment, and with the help of his TRU Foundation is offering to pay her rent for a year.
“I remember using the oven to heat the house,” wrote 2 Chainz. “I would stand in the kitchen for hours to stay warm.”
I remember going to sleep hungry, I remember a long ass extension chord coming from the neighbors house to mine to borrow their lights. I remember stealing cable, cars, clothes etc, no matter how much pain I endured I smiled on the outside.
2 Chainz, who posted earlier this week about showing his kids “how important it is to give back when you got it” is putting his money where his mouth is.
