Toronto's Time Festival unrolls its lineup for 2015

Is it time to declare Toronto Canada’s music-festival capital? Not only does Hogtown have festival mainstays—see: NXNE, Caribana, and so on—but the roots-oriented TURF, the hip-hop blowout of OVO, and EDM bashers like Veld all pass through the 416. Still, one of the city’s most promising festivals is Time: Debuting last year at Fort York, it proved to be an expertly curated fest, featuring diverse acts on a tight-packed bill. (Too bad the festival was marred by breakups and cancellations.)
Time’s hoping for better luck this year—and they’ve revealed a lineup that rivals 2014’s. Headlined by South African weirdos Die Antwoord, the fest is rounded out by Mac DeMarco, Badbadnotgood, Yung Lean, Tory Lanez, and more. It’s just as diverse—and no single act’s as volatile as Death Grips, who broke up prior to 2014’s Time festival.
