Chromeo and La Roux confirm duet

Since La Roux’s self-titled debut in the summer of last year, the artist also known as Elly Jackson has become a spokeswoman for a “hell yes” brand of empowerment that goes hand in hand with dancing. So it’s no surprise that her recent collaboration with Montreal’s Chromeo is the stuff that electro-funk dreams are made of.
However, while you may think “Hot Mess” is old news in the world of dance world pairings (it’s on the Chromeo album that’s currently out), a new version of the track is slated for release on January 17 that sees La Roux take on a much more commanding role, singing loud and proud with a whole new chorus that begins after the 0:46 mark.
Word on the street is that this version seems far less Chromeo than what appears on the record, so if you’re not a fan of the Canadian duo, fear not. And if you are? Well like we said, there’s an exciting new version of “Hot Mess” coming out on January 17.
